This member of the Quartz family can also come in other colours but generally it's forms as a Green Stone. Its name comes from the Italian 'a ventura' meaning 'by chance' or 'adventure' due, not to its own properties but, from the story of an Italian workman who produced a synthetic stone (looking likeour present day Aventurine) when he accidentally dropped some copper filings into a bucket of molten metal.

Metaphysical & Healing Properties

Aventurine has the ability to amplify energy and is often used in conjunction with other stones for this purpose. It balances the Male and Female energies within each of us and is said to be an aid to Manifestation as such, it is seen as a stone of Luck and prosperity (if prosperity is what you wish to Manifest)

Rather than 'bringing' luck it's action is to align you with opportunity in your life, so it would be more accurate to say it brings you to luck, rather than bringing luck to you.

It is a Heart stone dedicated to nurturing of relationships between you and those you love, and it's credited with reducing stress and anxiety, bringing blood pressure down and acts as an anti-inflammatory.

The stone contains varying amounts of Green Fuscite and this is a mineral which is associated with the devic realm of the plant kingdom and draws the spiritual energies from this realm into your garden, benefiting you with their goodwill - as long as you treat the plants well.

This is also a stone that can absorb environmental pollution so is often used next to computers etc.

History

Its association with luck ensured it wound up in the pockets of gamblers and card players.

It's discovery took place in the 18th century, after the incident with the Copper Filings

** The Tree of Life is a popular, universal and sacred symbol that represents multiple different meanings across many cultures, religions and mystical traditions. The symbol does not belong to one specific culture as it has been used all over the world for centuries.

While it symbolises many different things, there are some common themes it represents such as:

  • Interconnectedness of everything
  • Immortality and Rebirth: The Tree of Life is a symbol for rebirth as trees lose their leaves and seem to be dead during winter, but then new buds appear and new, fresh leaves unfurl during the spring. It symbolises immortality because even as the tree grows old, it creates seeds that carry its essence so it lives on through new saplings.
  • The tree of life diagram is used as a ‘map’ to understand more about our origins, the unknown, infinite energy, limitless light and Divine emanations beyond our mental comprehension
  • Connection with Ancestry, Cosmic Origins, Family, and New Life
  • Growth, strength and peace.
