For the first time, the complete set of 78 Oswald Wirth Tarot cards is available to collectors. Oswald Wirth, a renowned Swiss kabbalist, occultist, and hypnotist. Each of the 22 Major Arcana in the Oswald Wirth Tarot contains the corresponding letter of the Hebrew alphabet in the lower right-hand section, except for the Death card, which is both unnumbered and untitled. This tarot includes the 22 Major Arcana cards originally designed by Wirth as well as the 56 newly created Minor Arcana, in the same spirit as Wirth might have intended. Some of Wirth's Major Arcana cards differ from the cards in the traditional Tarot de Marseille and other popular divinatory tarots. For example, The Fool depicts an obelisk with a crocodile lurking nearby. In 1927, Wirth published a book describing his tarot design: Le Tarot des Imagiers du Moyen Age. He wrote another book in 1931 on the study of the tarot entitled Introduction to the Study of the Tarot - Collection of Symbolism. The meanings of the Wirth tarot cards mostly follow traditional interpretations.
