Metaphysical & Healing Properties
Carnelian is a stone that combines courage, optimism and confidence to create our reality, and encourages us to nurture the ambition to achieve this within ourselves.
As the name suggests, it effects the physical body strongly, energising the blood (Iron and Oxygen), which then carries all that vitalising spirit to the heart and stimulates the metabolic structure of the body.
Carnelian's Creative impulse works with the sacral chakra, strengthening fertility and releasing energetic blocks within the reproductive system.
Its element is water and, as such, it also acts on the digestive system, promoting flow and absorption.
This is a wonderful stone for bringing light, warmth and energy into your life.
Harmonizes/Combines with Turquoise, Amazonite, Blue Lace Agate
History
Carnelian is another stone with a long history alongside humans, being used in Sumerian and Egyptian times to create jewellery which was used to protect the user from their own anger. The Egyptians (who associated with stone with Solar and Fire energies) also used the stone as a burial amulet to protect the spirit on its journey into the afterlife.
Similarly it was used in war to give the user confidence in the face of unknown challenge.
The Egyptians were also aware of its 'reproductive' attributes and associated the stone with the 'menstrual' cycle of the Goddess Isis.

** The Tree of Life is a popular, universal and sacred symbol that represents multiple different meanings across many cultures, religions and mystical traditions. The symbol does not belong to one specific culture as it has been used all over the world for centuries.
While it symbolises many different things, there are some common themes it represents such as:
- Interconnectedness of everything
- Immortality and Rebirth: The Tree of Life is a symbol for rebirth as trees lose their leaves and seem to be dead during winter, but then new buds appear and new, fresh leaves unfurl during the spring. It symbolises immortality because even as the tree grows old, it creates seeds that carry its essence so it lives on through new saplings.
- The tree of life diagram is used as a ‘map’ to understand more about our origins, the unknown, infinite energy, limitless light and Divine emanations beyond our mental comprehension
- Connection with Ancestry, Cosmic Origins, Family, and New Life
- Growth, strength and peace.
