Moonstone is composed of two feldspar minerals, orthoclase and albite. The stone has a beautiful milky glass appearance.

History
Moonstones have been used by ancient civilisations for thousands of years.
Romans adored the stone and believed that it was derived from solidified rays of the Moon. They believed that the stone exhibits the image of their moon goddess Diana.
In Ancient Greece Moonstone was closely associated with love and serenity. Greeks merged the names of goddess of love Aphrodite and the goddess of the moon Selena and named the stone “Aphroselena”
They believed that Aphroselena was a powerful aphrodisiac when worn by two individuals as it will make them fall in love passionately.
The stone is a sacred stone of India, it is said that Moonstone was embedded in the forehead of Ganesh the Hindu god of the moon.
It is believed that Moonstone is made out of moonbeam light, In India when the stone is being displayed or sold it can only be presented on yellow material as yellow is considered to be a sacred colour.
