This 32-card Wiccan oracle deck by Nada Mesar (author) and Chatriya Hemharnvibul (illustrator) was specially designed to offer an easy and visual introduction to Wicca or other pagan religions with Celtic or Germanic roots for anyone interested in them. The deck comes with a 160-page instruction booklet. Wicca is a nature-based religion practiced by men and women from all walks of life and of all ages. Wicca can be practiced alone or in a group called a coven. Wiccans gather in clearings, on the beach, in nature, but also in living rooms transformed into temples for the occasion, or even in rooms used solely for rituals. They gather at the Full Moon or at the changing of the seasons and attune themselves to the forces of Nature. They venerate the ancient "Gods and Goddesses," the divine energies that were worshipped long before the advent of Christianity. A very special place is reserved for two divine energies called "God" and "Goddess" by Wiccans. The God is most often called the Wild Horned God of the virile forces of Nature; he is known as Cernunnos, Pan, or Karnayna. He is the God depicted on cave walls by our Stone Age ancestors. The Goddess is his consort and is often called Aradia, Cerridwen, Gaia, or Isis. The earth constitutes her body, the seas represent her womb, and Wiccans recognize her in the sky, in the phases of the moon.
