Cavansite was officially discovered in 1967 by geologists in Malheur County, Oregon in the United States. 

The Crystal is a very rare mineral that can crystallise in prismatic crystals and rosettes, these rosettes can usually be found alongside other minerals such as Apophylite and Stilbite

The variety found in Oregon was not of desired quality and the search for Cavansite continued until the 1970s when it was rediscovered in Poona, India where it is found in beautiful rich blue formations. The most prized and rare specimens are found in that location to this day.
