Ametrine is a fascinating stone containing 2 colour fields in very structured design, if you sliced an Ametrine through the centre, the yellow and purple shades would form a 'pin-wheel' effect. The stone is a mixture of Amethyst and Iron inclusions (ferruginous quartz) and not citrine as is commonly thought.

The largest deposit of this stone is found in Bolivia but there are also sources in North America and Mozambique

Metaphysical & Healing Properties

Ametrine helps with focus and amplifies intention toward a creative urge. It cleanses and balances all Chakras especially the Crown Chakra.

It helps the user to see themselves as they are, and as others see them, thus aiding the clearance of illusion. During Meditation Ametrine can be used to calm the mind and focus it on the task at hand.

If there is Negativity within the Auric Field, Ametrine will help to disperse it. It is a stone of Clarity and works to keep the mind free of stress and tension.

Like all stones containing Iron, it has beneficial impacts on the blood, energising, cleansing and oxidising, this quality provides for its use in the regeneration of the Immune system.

History

This stone's discovery is very recent and it only became available in modern times in the 1970s when deposits were rediscovered in Bolivia - at the Anahi mine (named after a semi-mythic Princess). It's thought that the deposit was originally discovered by one of the Conquistodors in the 1600s, who gained access to the remote area where it is located after marrying a Princess - Anahi.

Its origin in Bolivia remains very remote and is one of the rarest stones on earth.
