This is a large family of crystals which includes Calcium Phosphate, Calcium fluoro-phosphate and Calcium chloro-phosphate. 

Calcium Phosphate is the building block of our bones and teeth so Apatite is thus, literally made from the same material and is felt to aid in the absorption of Calcium so supporting Teeth and Bones.

Apatite acts like an emotional shock absorber, protecting the wearer from the internal consequences of shocking events or challenging demands from the external environment. It promotes the ability to re-align and balance your energy at times of adversity.

Apatite encourages inner communication and knowledge, the dark blue variety revealing deep truths whilst the lighter blue variety promotes flexibility and balance.

History

This is a relatively recently discovered mineral; its name was given to it in the mid 1780s byminerologist A.G. Werner, it derives from the Greek work apatáō which means to mislead or deceive.

Werner gave it this name since it had stymied (at that point) all attempts to identify it.
