Hypersthene is sometimes reffered to as “ velvet labradorite” however it is not related to labradorite.

It is dark grey to brown in colour and displays metallic-like luster.

History 

Hypersthene gemstones consist of magnesium and iron silicate, the name Hypersthene is derived from Greek word for “over strengths” alluding to the hardness of this mineral.

The stones existence in the gemstone world is highly debated as it is a metamorphic rock at the exact mid point between two minerals enstatite and ferrosilite.

Hypersthene was only recently discovered by the metaphysical community thus doesn’t have any historical uses.
