Oracle of the Radiant Sun

The Oracle of the Radiant Sun is another deck from husband-and-wife team Caroline Smith and John Astrop, who also created the Runic Tarot, Elemental Tarot and Moon Oracle. The 84 cards are based on solar astrology, and are divided into seven suits with old-fashioned and often surreal illustrations. It is based on horary astrology--astrology applied to the moment a question is asked (not a birth time). It is divided into seven sets of twelve cards each. The sets stand for the Sun, Moon and five inner planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The cards within each set correspond to the twelve signs. Each card carries a unique planet/sign combination. At the top is the sign number within the set. At the bottom are the planet and sign symbols and a keyword meaning. Artist Caroline Smith has chosen powerful symbols to reinforce those meanings. Each set also has a unique idenifying color and image framework. Jupiter has a diamond shape (left) and Mercury a diagonal line (right). The companion book is Oracle of the Radiant Sun: astrology cards to illuminate your life. Smith and John Alsop describe the personality type, events and meanings for each card. They also offer several astrology-based spreads with sample readings. Size 2.5" x 3.875"
